What is going on?

Quite a bit is happening in our house lately.  First of all, all last night, Princess was running a fever of around 104 and I could NOT get it come down.  I tried Tylenol, showers, baths, cold washcloth, and many other things, but the stinking fever would not break.  Luckily, when she woke this morning, it was gone!  In addition, it is finals time for me again.  I am having to write a research proposal with a literature critique along with it.  I am not liking this paper, as I have asked the Professor for clarification, and all he tells me is a reiteration of the assignment that was handed out.  HELLO PROFESSOR, I actually need you to do your job and help me with this!  This paper is due tonight, and it is one of the first times that I actually think I will not be able to complete it in time.  We will see!
On top of that, I woke up this morning to having all of my Google accounts being hacked.  I am talking my email, my blog, and my phone.  This is SOOOO not cool.  Someone emailed a bunch of emails from my account at 4:30 am this morning (when I was sleeping so it DEFINITELY was not me), my blog was deleted, and my Google phone was telling me that my password was changed.  Thankfully, all of these were easy to fix, and I have definitely changed my passwords.

After everything else over the last day or so, it is now snowing.  Let me just tell you, this is very weird to have everything look like Christmas when today was the start of the last week of school for the kids.  Summer break starts in four days, and it seriously looks like December out there.

This is picture of the front garden that I just finished yesterday.

These are all the supplies I have sitting in my garage ready to be put into the gardens, had there not been SNOW covering the gardens!

Oh well, I better get back to my paper that is due in less than 14 hours!

Brian Update

Brian is HOME!  The job he was doing in Idaho got rained out today, and he was able to come home a week early.  Originally, we were thinking he would be there until next Wednesday, but instead, he is home right now!  And the best part is, when the crew goes back up there this weekend, he is staying home and someone else is going in his place.  Because of this, Brian will be able to be home for 11 days before going to Boise!  SWEET!  We thought we were only going to have him home for 2-3 days, and now it's 11!

That's all for now, I have to go spend some time with my hubby!

Ode to a new day

So today, I have a few things going on.  First off, Prince is playing Ode to Joy in his class' talent show.  He is really excited about that!  I will post some pics of it later today.  Secondly, I am completing a project that I have wanted to do for quite a while now.  With Brian out of town, I am using this time to fix up the flower beds in my yard.  They have become overgrown with the grass, and I have not been as diligent as I could have been about pulling weeds.  In addition, the base of our four trees looks like cr@*, so i will be changing that as well.  I started with the grass the other day, and today I should be completing that part of the project.  I would also like to get the ground prepped around the trees.  I plan on putting in a 4 ft by 4 ft square around the bottom of all of our trees, and then placing mulch and flowers inside.  It should look good when I am finished.  On top of all that, I will be planting a bunch of annuals to fill in around my perennials.  I think it is going to look fabulous when I am all done.  I went out and took some before pictures this morning...

Long Days and Nights

We have had a very busy week so far, and it is only Tuesday.  It all started last Friday when Brian left for his monthly training with the National Guard.  With the realizing that Dad is going to be gone for almost six weeks, the kids started the weekend on a bad note, throwing fits and not listening.  By Saturday night, things got even worse.  Prince "accidentally" swallowed a magnetic marble.  Of course being a magnet, the Dr on call at the pediatrician's office wanted him seen ASAP.  This led to Prince and I visiting the local ER at 9 pm and not getting home until midnight.  The conclusion that the ER doc came to was that the marble was too far into digestion to remove it and we would have to wait until Monday to have anything done if it had not surfaced. Well, the marble did not surface on Monday, but it did make it's debut today.  YEA!  Now we should have no problems going through airport security in two weeks.  (It is so sad that this was the first thought that ran through my mind when the kids told me Prince had swallowed the marble!)
The other big thing going on right now is Brian being gone.  He was able to come home about 8:00 pm Sunday, but left again Monday morning at 6:00 am.  He is in Burley, ID for his day job.  Besides being in the National Guard, Brian works for a construction company Monday through Friday.  They put a bid in for a job up in Idaho, and sent Brian with the drivers so that he could fix any break downs that were encountered.  Brian will be able to come home some time next week for a couple days before leaving for Boise and more National Guard training.  Unfortunately, for that trip, he will be gone until July 1.  For this time, we are completely relying on phone calls and Skype.
With Brian now gone, I am coaching both Prince and Princess's baseball teams.  We will see how that goes, as they both have games that over lap every Saturday.  I will probably end up relying on several parents to help out.  This Saturday going to be VERY long.  I have Prince's team pictures at 9:45 am, Prince's game at 10:10 am, Princess's team pictures at 10:40 am, and her game at 11:00 am.  Talk about a busy morning!

Life of a Military Spouse

Tomorrow morning starts our six week break from Brian :(  He is leaving in the morning for training and will hopefully get to be home on and off at night over the next two weeks a few nights, but as of May 31, he is gone to Boise until July.  I knew this was coming when he made the decision to join the Utah National Guard last year, as he is a former Marine, I knew separations would come with the territory, but it is still sad to say goodbye.  The kids and I are staying as busy as possible while he is gone so that our minds are off of the fact that he is not here.   We also have the plan in place to use Skype.  In case you don't know what Skype is, Skype is a free web-based video chat system.  We plan on using it so that the kids can feel more connected to their Dad.  Don't have much else to say tonight, just have Brian leaving on my mind.

Sports!

Wow!  Lookie here!  I am actually updating my blog after only a couple days.

So far, this weekend has been a very busy, but fun one.  This morning, we had two baseball games, two soccer games, and soccer pictures, all before 1:00pm.  And, oh yea, the baseball games and soccer games are in two different cities that are a 30 minute drive away from each other.  Luckily, soccer only has two more weeks and then the season is over.

Today in soccer, Princess did great!  She is getting to be really good for her age and division.  Her feet work is starting to get more advanced, and she can stop and turn the ball around very quickly.

Prince is doing wonderful in soccer too!  He really wants to try out for the competition team here in Eagle Mountain, but misses the age cutoff by three months.  He is going to continue with the league he plays in now for one more year, and if he still wants to try out, we will let him.

After all of the games today, we let Prince get his haircut in a new hair style that he has been wanting.  Now, my baby is getting really big and looks it too.  He is now sporting a mohawk.

Here are a couple random pictures that we have taken lately!

Princess took this of her Daddy today!

Princess was looking really cute the other day, so I just had to take her picture.

Some pictures that I took on Easter.

I think that is all for now!

Long Time, No Blog

So, it has been quite a while since I attempted to blog.  For one thing, like always, I have been extremely busy with all that I do everyday.  In addition, to be honest, I keep forgetting to log on and post a new blog.  So, that is my new goal; try to update the blog at least every other week.  We will see how well that works!

Since it has been almost one year and six months since my last blog, I have quite a number of updates to tell.  Well, Christmas in our house was very fun.  On Christmas Eve, after coming home from our church services, the kids went out into the yard and sprinkled reindeer food, so that the reindeer would be able to find our house better.  It was so cute watching the kids outside putting the food out.  (The "food" was actually bird seed with magic glitter sprinkles mixed in.)  Then on Christmas morning, after the presents were all unwrapped, Brian and I took the kids to the sledding hill and spent most of the day sledding.  We all had a blast!

The day after Christmas was  the start of our family vacation.  The four of us took a quick road trip up to Washington to see Brian's family.  It was nice to get up there and see most of the siblings, nieces, and nephews.  I can not believe how big the kids seem to get every time we see them.  Then again, I am sure they probably say the same thing about my kids :)  We had a ton of fun playing tourist in Spokane and getting to do a lot that I had not been able to do in the past!  Thanks Connie for letting us crash at your house!

Now for some kid updates:

Damien-

Damien is at the moment, just finishing up second grade.  He has about three weeks left of school.  In addition to school, Damien is in his second year of piano lessons, and has a recital coming up in a couple weeks.  For sports, Damien is currently completing his soccer season and is just starting machine pitch baseball.  Over the winter he also played on a local basketball team.  Damien is a very sweet boy, who loves to please.  He is our little man, and is so easy to love.

Sierra-

Sierra is in her final weeks of preschool.  She was very fortunate, and was able to get into the local charter school for kindergarten next year.  She is currently also playing soccer and baseball on local teams.  This girl is still our very girly tomboy.  I say that because she LOVES dolls and pink, but is all about sports, tackling the boys, and is highly competitive.  She wants to start piano lessons so bad, but has to wait until the fall, as lessons are coming to an end with the school year.  She is a doll, and is definitely our Princess.

Update on the parents-

Brian and I are going crazy ;)  We have agreed to coach both Prince and Princess's baseball teams.  By agreeing to this, life is very full on Saturdays!  Besides coaching, Brian is still with the National Guard; because of the Guard, Brian will be gone much of May and all of June.  I am not really looking forward to this, but what can I do?  At least it isn't Iraq again, just Idaho.

One HUGE thing I am trying to do right now is lose weight.  To date, I have lost approximately 35 pounds, and am half way to my ultimate goal.  In order to accomplish this, I am watching what I eat, and am exercising a lot.  I am trying to make it to the gym five days a week, although there are times when I have not been able to do this.  Overall, I am very happy with where I am at, as I only started on this journey about three months ago.

I think that is everything for the moment.
