Long Time, No Blog

So, it has been quite a while since I attempted to blog.  For one thing, like always, I have been extremely busy with all that I do everyday.  In addition, to be honest, I keep forgetting to log on and post a new blog.  So, that is my new goal; try to update the blog at least every other week.  We will see how well that works!

Since it has been almost one year and six months since my last blog, I have quite a number of updates to tell.  Well, Christmas in our house was very fun.  On Christmas Eve, after coming home from our church services, the kids went out into the yard and sprinkled reindeer food, so that the reindeer would be able to find our house better.  It was so cute watching the kids outside putting the food out.  (The "food" was actually bird seed with magic glitter sprinkles mixed in.)  Then on Christmas morning, after the presents were all unwrapped, Brian and I took the kids to the sledding hill and spent most of the day sledding.  We all had a blast!

The day after Christmas was  the start of our family vacation.  The four of us took a quick road trip up to Washington to see Brian's family.  It was nice to get up there and see most of the siblings, nieces, and nephews.  I can not believe how big the kids seem to get every time we see them.  Then again, I am sure they probably say the same thing about my kids :)  We had a ton of fun playing tourist in Spokane and getting to do a lot that I had not been able to do in the past!  Thanks Connie for letting us crash at your house!

Now for some kid updates:

Damien-

Damien is at the moment, just finishing up second grade.  He has about three weeks left of school.  In addition to school, Damien is in his second year of piano lessons, and has a recital coming up in a couple weeks.  For sports, Damien is currently completing his soccer season and is just starting machine pitch baseball.  Over the winter he also played on a local basketball team.  Damien is a very sweet boy, who loves to please.  He is our little man, and is so easy to love.

Sierra-

Sierra is in her final weeks of preschool.  She was very fortunate, and was able to get into the local charter school for kindergarten next year.  She is currently also playing soccer and baseball on local teams.  This girl is still our very girly tomboy.  I say that because she LOVES dolls and pink, but is all about sports, tackling the boys, and is highly competitive.  She wants to start piano lessons so bad, but has to wait until the fall, as lessons are coming to an end with the school year.  She is a doll, and is definitely our Princess.

Update on the parents-

Brian and I are going crazy ;)  We have agreed to coach both Prince and Princess's baseball teams.  By agreeing to this, life is very full on Saturdays!  Besides coaching, Brian is still with the National Guard; because of the Guard, Brian will be gone much of May and all of June.  I am not really looking forward to this, but what can I do?  At least it isn't Iraq again, just Idaho.

One HUGE thing I am trying to do right now is lose weight.  To date, I have lost approximately 35 pounds, and am half way to my ultimate goal.  In order to accomplish this, I am watching what I eat, and am exercising a lot.  I am trying to make it to the gym five days a week, although there are times when I have not been able to do this.  Overall, I am very happy with where I am at, as I only started on this journey about three months ago.

I think that is everything for the moment.
