Yesterday was our 11 year anniversary, and unfortunately, Brian was still gone. So instead of feeling sorry for myself and being lonely, I filled the day up.
The kids and I started the day by going to see the play Ragtime at our local theater. All three of us loved the production, they did a great job. I am so glad that my children love the theater and are great at sitting there :) This musical did have a lot of content that the kids had never encountered before, so I did spend a long time explaining some of the issues that this show covered such as racism, immigration, politics in the early 1900s, and just plain ignorance.
After the play, we went home because I had a meeting with my councelor for school on the phone. Once my meeting was over, I made treats for a girls night in that I was having that night.
Girls night in was awesome! I had four friends come over and we just talked for hours and hung out. It was fun to take my mind off of the fact that Brian was gone.
We are a God-loving family, and life for us is wonderful! We love to stay busy with our children, read the bible, and just spend time as a family. Even though life for us can get chaotic, we would not change it for anything!
